I am sooo glad to see your very thorough article about palms. I have what I think is a sawpalm indoors in an extremely bright double window (full sun most of the day, floor to ceiling. By choosing this as my id here I admit I have an intense affection for this plant. However, just this week I noticed it has lots of coton like stuff all over the stems and some of the leaves. Is this mealy bug? If so, should I just spray it with castile soap or neem or...

without a photo I couldn't say.. but that is likely for such a sun-needy palm in an indoors situation.
