Grows in wet areas
- alternate leaves
- alignment of bur-like seeds that stick to your clothes

i have that nasty stuff all over my back yard near the lake so i'll be interested in seeing what it is. just to see if yours acts like mine, can you brush the seeds off with your hand? i mean, it's not like stick-tites or beggar lice, right?

A Hackelia spp., perhaps Hackelia virginiana, which occurs throughout eastern North America.

You are right; this is Hackelia virginiana, also known as Beggar's Lice or Stickseed
