Dug my fern leaf peonies today. Hydraulically dug, I should say. Used a garden hose
with a small nozzle to flush away the soil and gravel from the root system. Holds
root damage to a bare minimum.
First pic is the clump. Second pic is the total salvaged replant eyes/roots. Third
pic shows damaged roots, either from grubs or disease, on normally healthy roots.
Has anyone seen this type of damage?
Stored roots in an old refrigerator crisper drawer until new beds are built later this
fall.
