This may be old news to some of you container fans, but I just read a good way to make "pot feet" to raise some of my containers from the floor or the ground. Simply mix up a batch of concrete or mortar mix, according to the package directions, and pour it into empty styrofoam egg cartons that have been sprayed with cooking spray, such as Pam. After they dry, the "feet" may be popped out of the egg carton and separated. These are not as eye catching as those available at garden centers, but they are an affordable and easy to make alternative. I have found that mortar mix is preferable for these small items because of its smooth consistency. Also, cartons that have higher edges between the cups are easier to work with. Hope you find this helpful.
