Brought back memories from when I was a boy scout leader, and my 4 boys were all scouts, and we were out on camp outs.
That was there first taste of coffee, from a black enamel pot,and they would go around trying to spit out the grounds from there mouths!!! LOL
I myself was glad to see the old tin peculator pot come around!!LOL
Thanks for a walk back in time!!!!

What a great article. I have never had the pleasure of "Cowboy Coffee", but it sounds interesting to say the least. My husband loves strong coffee, maybe I will surprise him and boil up a pot of this unique coffee. Thanks for sharing such a neat story.

Great article, Summer, although I don't think I'll be drinking (eating?) cowboy coffee any time soon. You do have a way with words!

Shirl, let us know how the cowboy coffee goes over with hubby!
Tropic, how fun it must have been to have those kids out in the woods like that, spitting up coffee grounds. You must have laughed your butt off.

It's SO nice to get compliments on a piece like this. Thank you all!

Thanks!
What was funnier that I didn't mention ,was the kids who thought they were grown up enough to swallow the grounds, acting like nothing was wrong!!!!LOL
A time in my life I wouldn't have missed for the world!!!!
You never know what a kid will do next!
