Jill, I've enjoyed both of your articles about the Amaryllis bulbs. I have one question for you tho. I do not see where, what part of the country you live in, but do these instructions count for everywhere? I live in the NE corner of Washington State where our winters are long and the springs are cold and sometimes like this year, 2008, also longer than normal. Our zone is 5, but a lot of my zone 5 plants don't make it. Therefore I only buy plants for zone 4 or colder.
I live in Maryland (zone 6). I bring my amaryillis inside most of the year and treat them like houseplants, putting them outside only when there is no danger of frost.
