Hi,

I am decorating a clay dish for using as drinking "pond" for the little geckos that inhabit my back porch.

I am planning to use it all year round as they all always here looking for drink.

What and how do i seal the dish with so it is water resistant and can cope with the winter outside?

thank you:o)

Is it a terracotta dish? If so, you need to seal the dish first before you mosaic so that it won't absorb water ( this will protect it from freezing and cracking in winter, although I don't know how much frost you get in GA), then mosaic, then after grouting, I would seal it again. You can probably use the same sealer for both, Hobby lobby has a mosaic sealer and I believe it says outdoor sealer... you can also purchase a Marine sealer at either HD or Lowes which is used for water resistance. Go to the hupertufa and concrete forums also, they asked the same question there and I don't remember what else was recommended..

Gourd, thank you very much for the inof. Yes, it is a clay dish that is used to hold excess water when you water the pots.

Thank you!!!:o)
