Hi Have just brought a lucky bamboo plant & am wondering if there is any special plant food I should give it to keep healthy.
The shop that I brought it from could not tell me a thing about the plant.Except that it was new in & a novelty plant.
Look forward to a reply.

I would probably give it what I had for the other plants, only instead of the full dose, put a full dose in a gal. of water. This plant will grow with just water, I have well water so maybe that makes a difference. Last year I was thinking it needed food so I added some of the Super Thrive. It is a drop to one gal. of water. My plant is standing in little balls of terra-cotta and this food has turned them whitish, not as attractive. One person says she changes the water in it once in a while. What I do is set it in the shower for a minute or so. The water overflows the pot and cleans the leaves too. This fall I was having a problem with the leaves edges turning brown. Thought for sure I had a bug, but it turns out that the heat on in the house sops up the water so much faster, I have to water it more often. It's a couple of years old and the roots probably need trimming. That would add more space for water. It's a great plant to have. And I didn't know it but I had one growing in my shadehouse in the dirt. I put it in a pot with dirt and it's growing too fast. I'll have to look up how tall they get. The one in just water has only grown about six inches in three years. Good luck, Nancy

Thanks Nancy, My plant is in a big pot & in potting mix so it sounds like I will be ok. Was quite a big plant when I brought it . They grow to about I mtr 500 from what I understand if in the dirt or poting mix.
Good to know about the water aspect no good for me not fast enough.
Many thanks.
