I'm looking for some input on sterilizing seed starting mix. I've read some of the DG posts regarding sterilizing in the microwave. Can anyone recap the instructions? How much, how long, etc? And, more importantly, will sterilizing eliminate the moss/algae growth that can form on top of the soil? I've been using APS trays for a long time but have always had a problem with this, especially when I have to leave the clear covers on for a long period of time for slower germinators. I even get this growth when I sprinkle sand on top of the soil.
Any input is immensely appreciated.
