I first saw these strange scratches on a neighbor's King palm a few blocks away. I thought of images of cats using it as a scratching post. Now two of my Kings (myolensis in the front and cunninghamiana in the backyard) have the same scratchings. My other crownshafted palms do not have this. What is this? Are neighborhood cats using the palms to scratch?
