I am totally new to gardening, but love to look at plants, flowers and Vegetables and sit in my lovely garden. I live in Faisalabad Pakistan. A friend of mine told me that it is like Zone 10b.
I have been handing all the seeds to my gardener for the last 4 years with the only 20% success rate. I love vegetables and flowers. I would like to try growing plants from seeds myself this time.
I have Hybrid Parsely, hybrid red cabbage, Brussel sprouts, Turnip and white reddish seeds. My vegetable garden is my smaller back yard, where I only have partial sun. Any idea on how I could grow these vegetables in my garden. If anyone of these needs full sun, and can be grown in pots, I would try growing them in pots and putting them in my front garden.
The parsley will grow just fine in a pot and will also take partial shade. Do you know what varieties of red cabbage and Brussel sprouts you have? Some varieties are small enough to grow in pots, others not as well.
And while all the vegetables mentioned are full sun plants, honestly before I had the full sun I have now I grew these types in partial shade. They yielded less but they still did decently well and in your area some shade may actually be beneficial for these cold weather crops.
