A cool thing I noticed this summer was that when a tendril on my passionflower
touched a board on my porch it would bend at a 90 degree angle to go over the edge but
it would continue doing this 90 degree bend 4 or 5 times across the surface
until it realized that was no longer accomplishing what it wanted. I watched it
all summer--I don't know why I never noticed it before.
BTW, great article! Have you done anything on plants that recognize their
relatives and respond to them differently?
