...to keep this Pritchardia pacifica in a container?
I received this palm as part of a trade I guess about 2 years ago. It was much smaller then (hint: it was mailed to me in a USPS Priority tube box). Now it stands over 4 ft and is all leafed out with large gorgeous fronds in a 3 gallon container.
I know I can never plant it out here...it sustained cold damage to the leaves last season when it stayed outdoors in the 45-50F range. I also cannot plant it into the ground inside the greenhouse, as it will get too tall for my ceiling. My only hope is to keep it containerized and hope that slows its overall growth.
Does anyone have a large P. pacifica in a container? What has your experience been with it?
