I am one of those who drags the hose around from plant to plant (largely palms). It takes me all day, but there are two things I do to help save some time, and make it more efficient. First, I build the area around the plant up with dirt to keep the water around the root area when I water. Second, I make a little ditch between palms so that I can water one and then water flows to the neighbor plant. I only do this if the palms have similar watering needs.
Hope this will help others. happy watering
