Great article and very timely for me. On a recent trip to Lake Junaluska in western NC where the brugs were in full bloom , I spied beside a well trodden path a pathetic looking brug trimming. I picked it up and trimmed the damaged ends ending up w/ a perfect Y about 6 inches long. When I got the cutting home and got it into water the roots started to come quickly. I have no idea about the variety, but the brugs were all white. I just looked at my cutting and there are many roots below the Y and a few just starting on each side above the Y as well as a 1/2 inch long green leaflike shoot right at the Y. There seem to be no growth nubs above the Y. Of course I'm going to plant it to see what happens, but do any of you have a clue what I can expect ??
