I just read through a lot of this thread before I realized it was two years old. Planned to say how lucky all of you complainers are on the junk. I have the opposite problem. Hubby gets it in his brain to clean HIS garage and I have to dumpster dig for my stuff in my own dumpster. I bought a blender a couple weeks ago to make a moss malt. He threw it away. I asked, didn't you wonder why a blender would be in the garage? Maybe I had it for a reason? Maybe you should ask? He had the thing so full all I could salvage was the blender. I have no idea what else he may have thrown out. Unfortunately, since I've taken over the basement for eBay, I can't argue too long...but I have no room in the basement for all my stuff. Maybe I should spread the word and neighbors can dumpster dive here.

Okay. Just wanted to vent. You guys are lucky!

LOL...You're the lucky one. At least your stuff is not displayed
for all to see.

Ha ha!

I would not mind if hubby had junk, but we have ten acres.
Why it must be out there for the world to view, I'll never know.

We have a beautiful section of land with trees, flowers and
plenty of nature. What on earth would make anyone want to
plunk a junky boat, tractor or other crap in the middle of it,
I will never understand.

Sigh.

Oh, no. His stuff is different. I have parts of a lawn tractor in my back yard. I can't move them, they're too heavy. Why they're still there I have no idea. And I live in town, the original farmhouse whose backyard became a cul de sac..so basically I have no backyard. But there is an interesting bush starting there. Maybe I'll put some mulch around it and he'll get the idea. After 30 years of marriage we've gotten quite good at subtle hints...ROFL

LOL... I recently transplanted something others would call terribly invasive
in hopes it would grow quickly and hide all the ugly.

I hear you on the lawn tractor. We have motors. When I request they be moved,
he proclaims someone might steal them if they were in the woods.
I could only hope.

Well since the first post on this thread ( Golly was it two years ago?) There has been a lot of changes. Well you all know the "Collector" of all that "Good Junk", is now gone to where ever His (Ahem) junk collecting took him, but the majority of the Junk he left behind. I am still after a year trying to clean it up and or sell it . I have had one bon fire after another and have given away alot. I would have loved to use some of the wood for different projects , but the nice woodworking tools went with the collector!
So now I am reclaiming my back yard and hopefully soon I will have a more organized area and garden there. Oh yeah, I have a really nice shop and craft area back there now too, needs work , but its MY area to do with as I like! Yay!!!
Hmm, anyone have any ideas on how to hide a big old Ski boat??( ; { )

you guys are too funny!!! sitting here laughing and thinking about all the crap, I mean treasure, my honey has. am building me a studio...note me...haven't yet broken it to him that he gets to put nothing in it!! he's filled the basement and garage, not to mention all the things hidden in the open in the yard. we all tell him that we're getting a HUGE dumpster when he dies. my youngest son says when we die he's plastering up the basement door and saying "basement? this house doesn't have a basement". my kids keep telling me to pray for a tornado to hit.

Hey Digger! Yep there is a trailer and Old Dilly 16 footer. I wish I knew how to convert it into a nice utility trailer. I tried to sell it on Craigslist and even sent a photo but so far no takers. As for the Boat Ive thought about making a really unique raised bed garden, Now how's that for a redneck garden! Boy I can just see the forwarded attachments Now!!! LOL!!
Heeey Wuvie, Hmmm a bed of daylilies with some fountain grass, some sweet potato vine and morning glories, oooohhhh , Ahhhhhhhhhhh, all dramatically hanging over a '70 s something Ski Boat, all on a 16 foot trailer moved hourly to catch the Sun! ( uhhh does the word Redneck fit in here somewhere?) OMG, I made My own Self laugh til it brought tears just thinking about it!!!

His daddy was across the road from me on the water ,but died . the kids have his place and the mother wants to be close to the oldest boy who has control of Daddys place. It's a win win .

I bet if we all got one started, We would soon see "Trashy Swaps" popping up everywhere.
No one would have a junk room or yard full of old stuff for long, they would have taken it all to swaps and gotten "Gooooood Stuff"!!! LOL!!!!
