From surfing DG and different forums I decided to do some mosaics for Christmas gifts. These are a couple of them I have done.

And a few more. It is definitely fun to do. Have more and a couple of b.b.s in progress. Will post them as I get them done.
So rewarding!

Lyn, those are just beauties, whomever receives them will be very happy. I did one on a photo frame and glued the pieces onto the glass, I'll see if I take a photo of it.. my first one too. Very NICE JOB there.

Those are amazing! I love them all but espcially the water garden/fish ones. Whoever receives them will surely treasure them.

Thanks tetley, the water ones were fun to do but the big one I did first and used to many back ground colors so the mermaid doesn't show up like I wish it did. I learn something from ever one I have done so far.

Thank you Lyn,
Okay, I ran and got the camera... here it is.. I put too much of the glue on the hat and it did not dry clear as it was supposed to, NOW I KNOW to put a thin coat. Anyway, here it is and I got two others cut out facing the other way with larger rocks and some cactus that I haven't done yet. Too much on the brain lately.

Gourd, I love it! I used to have my LR all southwest and a bed room. I have changed both but my new kitchen is chilli pepper/sw. I love the sw stuff. I knew yours would be good cause as I said I have seen a lot of your things on DG. Like I said I learn as I go. that's the fun of it Right?

Thank you... you are absolutely correct, we learn as we go. I have some chili peppers ready to be cut out too... I just got a sack of unsanded grout.. this one has sanded grout and it doesn't look as smooth, but that was all I had.

I went to the unsanded grout after doing a couple of plant stands this summer. Just like the looks better.
DH and I may get around to taking some stained glass classes this winter. We have to go about 20 miles one way so will see if we get around to it or not. There sure are some beautiful things and a lot of tallent on this forum.

Oh, it will be worth it. I drive about that for my classes from where I am.. the class her is 3 hours long once a week. You only need a few classes and you will be making panels/windows in no time. Try to get the 40% coupons that Hobby Lobby has and get yourself a grinder, it will make your life a lot easier.

Yes, DH got me a grinder and the saw both. I get some of my glass I use for the Mosaic from HL. None of the other craft stores here have the sg stuff. I did get some of the broken glass at a regular sg shop tho. That's where they offer the classes. I was told yesterday at Michaels that they will start honoring the HL and some other places coupons so there we can double up on coupons. Maybe HL will so the same?? Sure wish Michaels carried the st stuff as they are a lot closer for us.

I wonder if Michael's in El Paso, TX would accept the HL coupons? That is the closest one to us. Maybe not worth it considering the price of gas come to think of it. It is about 55 miles from us.
