| You're right! I've purchased inexpensive bath bubbles in an innocuous scent (like vanilla), squirted a bit under the running water, then added several drops of lavender oil as the bubbles start foaming up... oooohhhh... :-) |

| Nice article; I will happily leave the making of these goodies to 'crafty' people... :-) |

| I actually like the mix of vanilla and lavender. Wondering if our DG family could chime in on their fav vendors for essential oils - would be nice to have a "list" to choose from. |

| Rosemary is my favorite, lemongrass a close second, because of the "clean" smell.
Jill, it will never cease to amaze me how many things you not only dabble in, you master! |

| Thanks, Summer... but I think I'm just a dabbler when it comes to making these soaps. They are fun, though! |

| Nice, clear article. I am a big fan of essential oils and home made herbal products but I have never made soap. Now, I may try it! |

| Hi Critter,
I used liquid soap and usually add lavender and rosemary to the mix. The orange/lavender mix you used sounds nice. I gotta try it. I make melt & pour soap for Susan.
Sometimes for the base I use unscented Ivory soap mix with melt & pour base.Stretching those dollars. Here recently it is very difficult to find unscented Ivory soap. Bummer. |

| Good tip about using the unscented Ivory (if you can find it) -- thanks! I'm with you on that lavender/rosemary combo. :-) |

| Lavender has been my favourite scent since I was small and worked with my Grandma (who I was named for) and her lavender plants. I began to learn how to use lavender in wonderful ways then, and I remember she always smelled great .. even when working in the garden :-) From then I have continued to add to my knowledge pool in my own life experiences.
I like lavender mixed with other herbs, too. But the pure lavender scent is ever my favourite. |

| I think you are right... I mix it with other scents from time to time, but I keep coming back to solo lavender. :-) |
