My late mother-in-law used to recall her grandmother burying kitchen waste in the garden. She did it year round including the winter months & the result was a garden that was remembered long after her death.

Thanks for adding your lovely sentimental anecdote. It is so nice to have gardens to look on when the gardener has gone.
