Hi
Just wondering if anyone knows anything about making bags out of newspapers? What do you use to coat the newspaper in so you can sew them together?

I've not heard of that, Robin. Can you describe them in more detail?

I read one tutorial that showed a spray - it was a clear, spray-on product. It may have been a polyurethane. I hope I can find it again.

I hope you can too. Would either of these make the newspaper sewing machine ready?

The instructions I've seen for them show them being woven out of strips of newspaper, magazine pages, or even potato chip bags. Once strands are woven, they are sewn together by hand.

I think the other kind, as you pictured, are made by ironing fusible web to the back of the newspaper first. I'll try to find the pages I read about that kind.
