Here is a picture of the house as decorated last year. I want something different. I love, and received lots of comments on the porch tree. The house is blue/gray with white trim. I prefer white lights.

You can barely see the 2 ornamental pear trees in front of the house - one on each side of the gate. I though about white lights on those to bring a dimension to the lights. The first year I put white lights on the picket fence but that's to much.

Red bows will not work - to bold. I like the ice sickle lights but everyone is using those and it would be very difficult to get them on this high roof ledge. That is why I concentrate on the porch. This year I will have the white tree in the attic as in this picture, there is a white tree in the right window (Parlor) where I have Victorian pink and white oranments. I will have candles in each window and maybe a small tree/lights in the 2nd story right side bedroom window. But I may just get the set of 3-5 candles for those windows to provide more light - a single candle doesn't do much for that area.

I would like something more bold but classic for the porch. The main road is where I'm standing when taking the picture. Open to suggestions. I think bringing lights to the now taller trees (2) will bring depth - The greenery and lights appear to disappear on the porch, don't you think? I also don't want to light up the town but give the 1910 home the love of Christmas it needs.
