Sharon, your memories about cutting the pig are so real and it seems so much like our custom for Christmas ...great article! You have such a talent for writing you should write a book about your childhood memories!

Shar, I sure couldn't watch such an event either! But I do like the meat ...sorry!LOL It's beautiful here too, warming up, like spring coming ! I'm looking forward to your new articles about your adventures!

Sharon, My grandmother and mother made soap from lye and ashes, but I didn't understand it at all. But I DID know that lye itself was dangerous. That's all it took to dampen any curiosity that I had.

This one was hard to write until I got to the soap part. That memory is good, the other memory of Porky is not so good.
