Thank you so much for your informative article. The plants included here would be great in other areas of the country too. Don't we all have spots in our yards that are almost their own micro-climates, and we are always looking for that special plant to fill in that spot? I saw several plants mentioned that are going on my list of plants to consider in 2009. I know just the spot for the Ice Plant. My neighbor has a hillside above a retaining wall that gets full sun and quick drainage. I'm going to pass on the name of this Lavender Ice Ice Plant to her!

Linda I'm so glad the article was helpful. Isn't it a shame there aren't programs like this for every region of the country? But it's true that the PlantSelect plants can work in many different areas. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for reading. :) Susanne

Wow, thanks for the info! I didn't know that existed. Also hailing from Texas, gardening my first few years in Golden was very frustrating (so was barbecuing and climbing stairs). Through trial and error I have learned quite a bit, this source sounds like it could really speed up the process since someone else has already done all the work! Marlon

Great article, thank you. Maybe add Lady's Mantle to your list, or did I miss it? Do you want to trade some columbine seeds?
