stock up on blankets, food, water, gasoline, candles ect, and get a generator. Do it before the next storm. We had a similar storm in MO that was so bad, we prepared. We didn't have power for 4 days, which was lucky. Some here were without power for as long as two weeks.
Also, if you have trees close to your home that you know are weak or have damaged limbs ect or are leaning, CUT them. Do not wait for a storm to land that on your house. We had friends that had a huge tree go right through their roof. Thousands of dollars and trouble to fix. Not to mention someone could have been hurt. It's not safe to be IN the house if you have trees within range if they fall. Here in Missouri we had HUGE oak trees that fell totally over, roots included, right out of the ground. I have tons of pics, because of course when they say on the radio DO NOT GO OUT, that is just what everyone does, right? :) Well actually I just walked around my street and took pics.

FrillyLily,

Thank you so much for reading and commenting. Being prepared is a good thing. Your pics of MO look just like OK; it was quite a storm, hmmm?

We are having bad weather right now. Glad it didn't freeze yesterday during downpours of rain; we would have had a repeat.

Thanks and stay warm.

April
