We've all got leftovers. Specialty papers we won't use, stickers we won't use, tools, things we've moved beyond wanting (clipart books haha you all know I want them!) etc.
I'm thinking once I get caught up with my books (I'm only 6 mos behind) then I can clean out my inventory and have a local party where goods can be exchanged with no cash.
I think I'll just post pics of what I have online and tell others then can email back pics of what they have for trade or just stop by my place with their stuff.
Which brings me to another thread idea...I'll start that in a minute. First, any tips on hosting something like this?
That's a great idea, a swap party! Maybe you could do it like a plant swap, where people draw numbers and get to pick stuff out as their numbers are up? You've got to have chocolate and salty snacks, too. LOL Chocolate, definitely. ;)
Thanks detho. Yep, no RR experience here either. Really I think the cost of shipping what I'd have would outweigh it's good to someone? But a local trade might be better???? I'm just about caught up and will then be able to inventory my items better. Should be done and caught up by January!
Tir, do you have any local scrapbook stores near you? Sometimes they have garage sales and you can earn store credit for the items you sell. Our local store has a sale twice a year, and a table costs only $5. They get the cash, but we get the gift certificate.
If you wanted to do it on a larger scale, maybe you could put up flyers and post on Craig's List about the swap. If you have a place people could meet, such as a community room at a local coffee shop or at your library, it would be safe since you wouldn't have to have strangers to your house.
