I harvested a bunch of seed heads off of my coleus a few months ago and have had them drying in a big Ziploc bag in my office. Last night, while putting off wrapping presents (I am such a good procrastinator!), I cleaned some of the chaff off of the seeds and ended up with a nice little pile of seeds. My, they are tiny!
I started packaging a few tonight and would like to send some out after the holidays- I'll start with the first 10 folks out there that would like to try their hand at coleus seeds. I just started some seeds this morning, so we'll see how long it takes them to germinate.
Hee hee, how bout you Brinda?! I know, I know, they take forever, but there just might be a wonderful new hybrid hiding in this pile of seeds!
Each little packet has, I'm guessing, about 50 to 100 seeds. It's hard to count when they are so small. They are from the 100 different varieties I had growing this season, so who knows what will pop up. I just plucked tan seed heads and stuck them in the bag!
The packets are small enough that I can just pop them in a regular envelope.
