I know a bunch of people who do this all the time; thanks for explaining it so well.

:-)

It's one of those things that can sound really challenging until you actually try it. My hope is that the simple, step by step photos will encourage people to nip a leaf from their favorite AV and give it a try.

Thanks for reading & responding!

I really like the mouse-over captions, and the pics are very helpful. It is simpler than I thought!

It really is! Actually, it's even simpler, because scraping the stem on one side and sticking the leaf at an angle are totally optional things that I do because I think they might give me more plantlets, sooner. You can choose an old battered leaf, stick it straight down way into the pot, and you'll probably still get plantlets from it (eventually).

It bring backs memories of an old love... Maybe I should rekindle the flame. (They do love attention, and I've been bad... 3 years ago I killed an entire AV collection.) Think their successors will know and punish me?

Thanks for the article, Critter! Lovely and clear, as usual.

I'm "rekindling" here as well... With the exception of a few nice looking symmetrical plants, my dwindling AV shelf needs serious overhauling, and I may restart most of them from leaves.
