Good grief! I hadn't thought of, or remembered, bubble lights for decades.

    What memories they bring back.

I wonder why they are not seen any more? They were so interesting.

    Great article, as usual . . .

    Hi Marilyn,
Sometimes I notice bubble lights of some kind for sale, but the ones I remember were Noma, and I don't think I have seen them around for a long time. They sure were great, though...and I was fascinated by them.
Glad you have those memories, too.

Thank you for writing, always so nice to hear from you.

I have a lay-down wreath that my husband & I made and we put bubble lights in it. I love to see them as they warm up and start to bubble. The set we have is about 27 years old. We've tried to take good care of them. I also have replacement bulbs. I buy some any time I run across them somewhere. We put them on our tree when we first bought them, but they don't do so well on artificial trees. They tend to leave burn marks because they get so hot. We can't have a live tree anymore. My husband & I are disabled and it's more than we can handle. It's just us so we just take it easy during the holidays.

If they get hot enough to leave burn marks, that'll be why they're not around any more.

Rickadee, what is the brand on your bubble lights? Seems that ours didn't get that hot, but that was wayyyy long ago, and maybe I don't remember.

You all freezing over there in your county tonight??

I don't know the brand, we've had them a loooong time. The sockets that they are in are very old too. That may have had something to do with it.

Yes, we had ice everywhere this morning and now we have pouring rain. Hope this rain doesn't freeze and make traveling tomorrow hazardous. Hope you have a very Merry Christmas and get to spend time with your loved ones.

Thank you and same to you, too. Raining here too, so who knows what it will be tomorrow, but do think it will be warmer. Hope so anyway. Too many traveling to risk ice and snow.

And yes, the cedars do look pretty sad drooping with snow...
