This helps a bunch by confirming some ideas I'd been playing with. I just bought a mini-greenhouse similar to the one in the photo and have been planning to set it up sometime in March. I'd thought about closing up the water jugs in black plastic garbage bags to help catch and retain the heat better. Have you tried this? Maybe it would get the water too warm? Another thing that's great about your idea is that in an emergency you'd have a handy backup water supply (a lot of folks don't). Would just one be sufficient, or would you need more than one for a frosty-cold night?
