The kindness of good people never ceases to amaze me, it was so sweet of those boys to go searching for flowers for the little girls family, and a good explanation why such an unusual plant should be the State flower of Oklahoma.
This plant also has a very special role in nature. It is the host plant for the Purple Hairstreak butterfly, this plant is the only food they eat. This is a beautiful butterfly that you can't see very often because it flies fast and always sits with the wings closed.
