| Your plant's blooms resemble ironweed (Vernonia). I am not sure about the leaves though. The links below show Vernonia cinerea which is found in Asia. Do the blooms look anything like these? It may be a different type of Vernonia.
Vernonia cinerea:

http://www.conabio.gob.mx/malezasdemexico/asteraceae/vernoni...

There are over 1000 species of Vernonia. Here are a few more that are found in Asia: Vernonia cockburniana, Vernonia unicata, Vernonia zollingerianoides (with this last one only found in Indonesia).

| Htop is right with Vernonia cineria, Little Ironweed.
We have the same plant in Hawai'i. A fairly common plant in disturbed areas. |

| I found that its proper scientific name is now Cyanthillium cinereum with Vernonia cinerea being a synonym.

| Yes, I think it would be very difficult. Please post a photo of the plant with the red blooms that look like the Vernonia. Somewhere, I read that the Vernonia blooms could be reddish also. |

| Boerhavia repens syn. B. diffusa, is a variable species.
Your plant is an exact match for Boerhavia repens in: Mark D. Merlin, "Hawaiian Coastal Plants and Scenic Shorelines".
And in: W. Arthur Whistler, "Flowers of the Pacific Island Seashore".
And in: Warren L. Wagner, et al, "Manual of the Flowering Plants of Hawai'i". |
