just the article i have been looking for. i hope i can get mine to bloom. it is really getting big and has only bloomed once. i know now what numbers fertilizer to use. I live in Memphis and bring it in every winter. hoping for a bloom this year. thanks for the info.
Thanks for the great article. I was feeling nostalgic... I had to find a new home for my Strelitzia regina some years ago when the plant leaves' reach bothered my partner. Mine did bloom as a houseplant (grown from seed) after being threatened with eviction in mid-winter for non-performance.
I saw them first in pictures, then for real in Hawaii (WOW!), then discovered the 30 ft relative in a park while exploring Hawaii. I was there trying to figure out how to grow a 30 ft specimen in Newfoundland!!!
