| This one is not framed yet and made very subtle changes in it, not much, just a couple feathers a little longer and maybe the ground, but will be in a double frame with the Chicken facing him. Hopefully the ground and scenery match on these when it is hung.. it is one heavy frame, I'll tell you that, so I'm wondering exactly how we are going to manage hanging it with two panels.
Both panels will measure 25 1/2 " x 18" each . I't won't be a couple of weeks before I post the two together, I still need to sand and stain the double frame. It doesn't sound big, but the weight is something else. I can only imagine how many people they need to install those big stained glass windows. I know I can't do this one alone.
edited to say the frame is almost five feet tall where these will be inserted.

| Oh yes, I forgot, my rooster and chicken have feet..lol you can barely see them. I don't think I'll be making anymore of these or I'd make the feet bigger, except my chicken and one smaller baby chick to complete the set that is in ABQ.

| Looks great!
What's the clear plastic stuff with the push-pins in it that you have surrounding the piece? Looks interesting! I was taught to use a strip of wood around the left and bottom of the panel. |

| Ima, those are aluminum brackets that we picked up at Lowes and cut them with the saw, then used a drill to drill very small holes for the push pins. They are "L" shaped and come in 4 to 6 ft sections.
Sac, yes, I drew them, on the first ones, I left the feet off..lol.. oh well, they looked like they had their feet behind rocks. Thank you for the compliment. I started on the partner to this one today and managed to stain the double frame. |

| Ahh---yes, I see aluminum brackets now (I had to turn my brain inside out)! Great idea! More flexible than the board method. |

| Well, I got them into the frame, but, what we are seeing is the backside of the panels. I just got them to fit after sanding and sanding, and sanding some more.. the chicken just gave me a few problems..
It is on top of a red plastic table cloth so that is why the feathers look red.. they are yellow, but you can see the red thu the yellow glass.. hopefully in the next few days it will be ready to turn over and I'll get a photo of the front.. there are two metal yard sticks that I laid across the top of the frame for size, it is five feet long (sideways) and 20 1/2 " long.
I had to stand on a kitchen chair to take this photo.. I can't tell you how much injustice this photo does it. it really surprised me and came out really nice, I hope now I don't break it trying to put it up. Thank you all for putting up with me and my chickens..lol Click the image for an enlarged view.

| Hi Lyn,
getting there.. thank you and this panel is going to be in one of the craft shows next week. I did get it appraised and it is a whopping $$$$$$$ (but I made it for my kitchen) maybe I'll stick a price tag on it.. I just need to polish it up now and take it in on Wed. of this week.
I could buy a lot of glass with that money and a saw ... lol

| Clearly I have picked the wrong hobby to love...LOL! Years ago I made a SG Christmas teddybear for a friend as a gift, and she had it out on display when I went to visit her in Dec. I was pleased with how good a job I did! Maybe when I retire I'll pick it up again. I've had glass stashed all over the house for 20 years---might as well do something with it!
Of course with your roosters, part of the package is the framing, which I think is just perfect with them. Are you serious about selling them? I thought you were making them for your daughter...or am I having those '60s flashbacks again? |

| The first set went to my Daughter, they are hanging in her dining room right now in ABQ.
This is the second set, it is bigger than the first set and this is two pieces in one long frame. I made a few changes in my pattern for these.
hers were two separate frames and they were 16"x20" each, these are her's Click the image for an enlarged view.

| I am working on some grapes, wait till you see those... I can hardly wait to hang that one, it is 18" x 24" and I started foiling tonight... I am really anxious to see it because if it looks good, this is the type of grape that will go on the windows and back splash...
I'll post it when I finish..

| Oooohhh---I love "grape art"! It's one of the things I love to do in pottery. Last Christmas I went out to some of our local vineyards and took photos, which I tweaked and printed and framed for DS for his kitchen. Can't wait to see your panel---maybe it will inspire me to work on the "grape lady" fountain I want to make for my girlfriend...it's been in my head for a year. It needs to get out. |

| lol.. I've got stuff up there that needs to get out also..
Well, foiling is not one of my better qualitites here... I've only foiled 4 clusters of the grapes and need five more clusters before I start to cut more glass. I estimate a little over 200 pieces on this one.
Do you have a photo of the framed grapes by chance? |

| I have all the original photos I took on my hard drive---are you looking for closeups of clusters with some leaves? I can send you the photo files if you can describe what you're looking for. I took a BUNCH of pictures, and I know you don't want all of them...LOL! |

| Thank you,
I'll go take a peek at JoAnne's pot, had errands to run and dropped off the rooster and hen... for a craft show next week, so lets see how it does. I haven't even put hooks on it yet to hang. I did get a light fixture that I can attach to the back of the frame for light...
I was just wanting to see your framed grapes, and I'd love to see some leaves, I've already completed the pattern here and have some ways to go on it yet so I can still change a thing or two, I want to finish it in the next two weeks to put it into another craft show in March... I am really getting anxious to finish this one, things are going a little bit faster the more I cut glass, I guess speed comes with practice..lol

| Okay, this is what I have for now... I tack soldered 9 clusters and have several other grapes that are going to be added... there will be a 3" border of geometrical cuts framing this whole thing.. it will come out to a finished panel of 26 1/2" x 30 1/2".
What you are seeing now are mostly clear grapes and the rest will all be purple grapes of different shades... I have to figure out how to make it strong and I basically am doing this on my own, so I need to call around to see if someone can help me figure out some of the details.. I've almost finished drawing all the leaves in as of this morning.
This photo I took yesterday so it already looks different, but it will give you an idea of what it will kinda look like, I don't think I had tacked them yet nor put my metal frame around it. Click the image for an enlarged view.
