| I got a Cricut Expressions for Christmas. Do any of you know where I could find a chart that lists what settings and blades to use for various materials? Have not even used it yet because the second thing I tried to cut was a piece of fabric and a total failure. Set it aside and have not looked at it since. I know this is supposed to be a great machine but the book that came with it was not very informative. Thanks for any help you can give me. |

| the cricut cuts paper only thats why it failed...To my knowledge it's not meant to cut fabric. Have you gone to the website? |

| There was a television ad that hubby and I saw where it was cutting paper, plastic and fabric. I enjoy quilting to he got it thinking it would be good for cutting applique pieces. I have not really looked around that much, thought I would go to the experts here first. |

| Tet, I found this on the cricut site forums

Okay I went to Joanns today and purchased HeatnBond in a purple and white package. It says sewable on the top and there is 5-1/4 yards in the package. I used red broadcloth from hobby lobby and this is not very thick. It is the broadcloth that is like 2.00. I cut out a 12x12 of each and followed the instructions on the heatnbond. I did have to hold it on the fabric and bond a little longer than it said because it did not stick very well but I did finally get it all stuck down. I opened up yet another brand new cutting mat and placed it on the mat. It did stick all over. I then set my settings on the cricut as follows: speed med, pressure med, and set my cutting blade to 4 using the cutting blade that came with the machine not the deep cut blade. I then loaded the mat and cut out a T. It worked. However, just a few threads here and there were not cut when I pulled off the T they came right off. It does leave the peel off backing on the mat but the iron on part is on the back of the T. I hope this helps and if I find any other new tricks I will be sure to pass step by step instructions on. I do not want anyone to have to go through the processes I have been through. Thanks for all of the help and suggestions from everyone. |

| I just recently got a Cricut - the one that cuts 6x12 - I'm wondering if I can cut the Avery full sheet labels with it - they are kinda like the mailing labels - only full sheets? |

| Yes, you can cut those. You might need to experiment with blade depth, speed and pressure. Just cut your Avery sheets down to fit the 6x12" mat. |
