Are there any ideas for a good moisturizing soap recipe for hands for winter? My hands take a toll and the selection for soaps is overwhelming. I just need the best advice possible.
I don't think any soap will help hands, it's what you put on afterwards. make balms that are kind of like really soft chapstick with lots of shea butter. I put it on my hands right before I put on my mittens or gloves and now my gloves act as hand lotion every time I put them on! My hands usually crack and blead in the winter, but since I've been doing this, they are like a baby's butt. They smell better though.
I think jylgaskin is right on that, You should be looking more in the line of a good moisturizing lotion. If you've not made any yet, it's easier than making soap..
besides, soap isn't - by it's very nature - moisturizing. the best you can hope for with soap is that it's mild enough not to remove too much of the natural oils from your skin.
