Sharon, that is one cutie!
Kelli, I love those houses and land, wow, so beautiful but so very expensive! Love your pics...the window seems like a turtle!
I received some pics from a friend who spent Christmas in our Carpatian mountains, at Bran resort. The view, during summer, is very much like the second house for sale you posted.

Good morning!

It's cloudy, fairly calm and 34F this morning. Slowly getting lighter outside, sunrise is now at 10:52 am and sunset at 4:23 pm. Since winter solstice, we've gained about 30 min. of daylight in the mornings, but almost an hour in the afternoon ... don't know why it's so uneven ... anyone know?

Lots of great photos :-)

Kelli - those properties both look great but so expensive! Great photos from your hike and I love the look of those mandarins!

Sharon - lol at poor Prissy! She's taking the abuse very well! lol

Kiska - Interesting about schools being closed because of the warm weather ... are there a lot of dirt roads there? Somehow I've always imagined that Iceland was the only country that still had dirt roads out in the country ... surprised to learn that they're so common in the US.

Adina - beautiful photos :-)

My new year's resolution was to stop watching the news ... I couldn't take any more bad news. Things here are horribly bad altough I'm trying my best to ignore it. Prices are getting so high that you can't ignore them though ... I just realised a few days ago that our fruit and vegetable consumption has plummeted ... they've become an ultra luxury. When I was preparing for Hildur Eva's birthday party I had a slight shock when I saw the price of strawberries... I only bought two boxes although I would have needed 4 ... payed about the same price as 4 would have cost a few months ago. That's pretty much the story ... imported stuff costs twice as much as it did before. That really puts a big dent in your wallet ... sigh. Needless to say consumption of imported goods has gone way dow.

We have a new saying ... "this is so 2007" referring to something being extravagant, showing off etc.

Well hope all of you will have a great day! and that those of you in the deep-freeze will manage to stay warm.

Rann

This was one of her presents ... the lights change color, which is VERY cool! lol I bought this and most of her other present in november before the prices went sky high. I couldn't possibly buy her one of those dresses now ...

edited to add: The Christmas tree is still up because the birthday girl requested to keep it until her birthday ... and because it's fake we could oblige her ... it's coming down today ;-)

Looking forward to seeing some Mid-South friends again and meeting face-to-face with some whom I haven't met in person yet. Ric I always think how amazing it is that a Finch manages to survive in freezing weather.
Rann The girls are so pretty. Hildur Eva looks like a Princess! That dress is darling. They are growing up before our eyes.
Mau The blanket is satin on one side and the soft thermal on the other. It keeps her warm when she wiggles out of sweater (like she did again this morning). Have fun at the seed swap!
Joey I have got to see the New River in person the pics are gorgeous!

Adina: Friday is doing just great--he is like having a toddler around the house--constantly into something. Like a child, he gets bored with his toys so I gave him an empty tissue box to shred and shred it, he did, in about two seconds flat!! I think I might have to get him a kitten to play with--I couldn't handle another puppy like Friday--LOL!!

I would like to sell a couple items this weekend. Of course they would be ordered for later delivery.

Dealers are down this month. Suppose everyone thinks nobody going to buy. But look at the malls, there is no shortage of cars in the lots. Looks like the Christmas shopping season!

Hilltop and Alyeska ski areas were closed, as were Anchorage schools, although school activities are occurring."

It was 0 when I posted but dropped as I drove to work.
The speedometer was going wonkie!
I was going somewhere between 60 and 70... the needle kept jumping.

It was gorgeous though after the sun came up.
I was outside at noon, no wind and 5 the sun was actually quite warm.
I would have been perfect hiking weather.

It's 9 now and no wind chill.
We aren't going to Tub tonight.
Too great a temp difference and it's too hard on the heater...

CG, if I lived in a vacuum and didn't know what was going on in other places, based upon my own little world, I would say that there is no economic problem at all. I don't see any fewer people in the store. I wonder how much economic panic is generated by the media.

Kiska, so that is where the Pineapple Express has gone. When it comes here, it brings rain. We haven't had rain since Christmas.

Ric, I think it would have to be warmer than 5F for me to go hiking.

Temperature is on the move, just jumped to +13.3. Looking for 30's tomorrow. That's 55 higher than yesterday morning.

Media does a lot of forcing things the way they want.

Our big state newspaper, Minneapolis Star Tribune has filed for bankruptcy. People are reading the news online or on TV. I listen to a very local radio while working in the shop or greenhouse. It is at least a day ahead of paper. Also covers any local car crashes, deaths, & small town sports & events you never see in a paper.

As I sign off, +13.5

Bernie Good luck at the market today! I hope you sell lots of furniture!
Adina Jeff is a chairman for the EAP (employee assistance program). He handles grievance (LOL been lots of that in the last couple of years), addictions, etc
Kelli That is a happy cactus!

My take on the issues is the media is talking about is tourism. People are not taking vacations like they did is years past. Tourism here has dropped off to a critical point. There are many people who have lost their jobs in the resort/hotel/restaurant businesses. "Snow Birds" are usually here from November thru March, but the are not here this Winter. Our roads are generally filled with out of state vehicles...not this year. The economy is terrible. There are many closed shops and restaurants all over the island. It will be interesting to see how the Spring and Summer fares. People are buying here, but for the most part they are buying necessities only.

Mau this just may the the perfect place for a vacation :) LOL!

Thanks everyone for you kind words on Hildur Eva.

I prefer reading the paper over the news on TV ... there's more room for the speculatory what could possibly happen if all goes as badly as possible stories on TV than in the papers ... I've had enough of those.

Sharon -sorry the tourist industry over there has taken such a hit. The opposite happened here, but that's because of the currency difference. While things have doubled in price for us, everything is half price for foreigners ... There were a lot of Europeans (Brits and Scandinavians mainly) who came to do their Christmas shopping here ... which is excelent for the shops and the economy :-) That's something that's been unheard of before ... Iceland has been the most expensive country in Europe ... until now. Icelanders flocked abroad to shop for Christmas ... Now the tables have turned completely ... Iceland has never been so affordable for tourists ;-)

Hope you all have a great day!

We thought taking a day trip to a park north of here, but then remembered that it is MLK weekend and thought we'd best stay home and avoid the traffic going up to Mammoth (ski area). I finished pruning my rose bushes and I'm glad that's done. I hadn't done it in a couple years and had some monsters on my hands. I also look like I've been wrestling wildcats.

42F but with the prospect of getting back down to freezing in a few days. This warm weather has created so many flooding problems; not counting the days of school being closed, certainly was a mess.
Loved Drake and Wu, ric. Looked like he was a wonderful pet.
rann~sounds as if now's the time to get over to Iceland. Would love to do just that. In answer to your earlier question/dirt roads. Most roads are paved, the side roads, driveways are less likely to be.
They are saying tourism will be down in Alaska, too.
Have a nice weekend~

We're not sure what the Summer is holding for us at this point. Gary has finished chemo, BUT he has had this little irritating cough for 3 months. All his tumor markers came back at zero, but there is that dreaded cough every 2-3 seconds. The Dr. did a PET scan on his lungs on Friday. We'll know something later next week. Fingers crossed that the cancer in his lungs is gone.

Yikes, Kiska!!! Between the 100+ mph winds and the flooding, you might as well have had a hurricane. :-/

It warmed up nicely here today. Tomorrow is going to be even warmer. The website I usually cut & paste my weather from has started using pop up ads - which really really annoy me even though we have an ad blocker so all I get is the "Firefox blocked a pop up ad" notice at the top of the page... I'll probably switch to a different website after today.

8 below zero (F) this AM. Furnace quit and it was only 58 degrees in the house. Furnace man said the little pipe leading from the outside tank to the house was gelled. He thawed it out and the furnace is running at this point. First time in 22 years. Hope it doesn't do it again tonight - these service calls are very expensive. Supposed to be somewhat warmer this night, but not above freezing all day and another very cold night.

Years prior we had always burned a mixture of kerosene and fuel oil and never had a problem. This year ( due to the high prices) we ordered just the fuel oil and added a container of stuff from the hardware store that was supposed to 'condition;' the oil to prevent it from clogging up. NOT
Live and learn - and pay out. It is supposed to get above freezing - like 34 deg by next Thursday.

From an experienced oil burner. Wrap some fiberglass insulation around the pipe or even a blanket or an old towel. You will gain a few degrees & that might be all you need.
Most tanks in upper midwest are in the basement now.

We are now 25.5
Lots of people having trouble staying on the road today at 70MPH. Wind was blowing snow across causing black ice. Dummies could slow down!

Sharon, I'll be praying for Gary, hoping the lung cancer is gone. Thanks for the cute pics! The USAF people are lucky to have Jeff handling their assistance problems!Same here about the tourism and restaurants or firms closing...
Kelli, love the cactus and the MG reminded me of summer...so far away!LOL
Ric, Drake was a handsome dog and so is Wu...love the name! Are you still working on the room?
Celia, great picture!
Bernie, love your furniture!
Rann, that's great for your country, I hope th eprices go down for you too! Same in Romania, the prices are up and the mortgage too...we are paying 1/2 more than we had to pay initially because of the euro going up...ugh!
It was foggy yesterday when I left from work in th evening and DH said the power went off at our house...well, we have the generator, I said and maybe it'll turn on until I get home...NOT, the power was off in all the village and with the fog it was so hard to drive...I was lucky I got home safe! They turned on the power after 3 hours...ugh... we were worried about the gas in the generator's tank would finish...it's supposed to work for 6 hours with a full tank and this was the second time when they turned off the light. So, we're saved for now, but we have to fill in the tank for next time...ugh!
Today is freezing and still foggy. The doggies were chasing some big dogs who came with a herd of sheep on the field.

Good morning!

It snowed some more yesterday afternoon. Now mostly clear skies and the sun is out :-) Fairly calm and the temp is around 30F. The wind's supposed to pick up this afternoon or evening.

Kiska - wow what a mess! Hope all that water drains away before it freezes again.

Bernie - beautiful pieces! You're very talented!

Ric - Drake was a beautiful dog. If I'd get a dog I think it would be a Collie ... I wanted one so bad when I was a kid ... (Lassie ;-) ) lol

Sharon - it's one positive thing in a sea of problems. Icelanders have pretty much stopped traveling abroad which is really bad for the turist offices here and the airlines so I guess it's a good thing there are some people coming here. Shops are struggling, many will be closing in the next weeks. A lot of businesses are going bust and people loosing their jobs. And because the government is so heavily indepted (thanks to that Icesave fiasco now nicknamed Iceslave) our welfare system is crumbling ... there are protests every weekend ... it's just a horrible mess. Keeping my fingers crossed for Gary.

Adina - thanks. Love that photo of the fog. Prices won't go down unless our currency recovers which is highly uncertain at the moment. I think they're more likely to go up now since most shops tried to keep the prices down for the Christmas shopping and now there are sales everywhere ... after that I might just stop going to the stores ... well except the grocery shops ... we have to eat after all ;-) Everytime we go there though we get a slight shock at the cash register... just painful.

OK enough complaints for now.

Have a good day everyone!

Where to start?? You "peeps" were certainly chatty while I was away yesterday!
Guess I'll start with this quote:
Quoting:Pea had some Boston Rib Roast LoL!

I love it, Sharon!! and the photos, too. BTW, in spite of the drop-off in tourism, the locals don't seem to have dropped their prices any on beach rentals (I checked) :o(( You'd think they would want to encourage tourists by lowering their prices, at least that is what I would think! Prayers going up for Gary.
Kiska: what a mess you have up there and 100 mph winds, too! Gracious!
Bernie: beautiful furniture--I need one of those knotty alder cabinets (sans bowl and faucet) to put my TV on--wish you were closer!!
Adina: so glad the power was restored for you--hope it stays on!
se_eds: what a bad time to have furnace problems! glad it is "going" again!
Kelli: ROFLOL at your email!! Pretty cactus.
Ric: great pics of Drake and WU--Drake was a beautiful dog!
Rann: consider yourself hugged real tight! A hug won't change the circumstances but it might make you feel better.
(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((Rann))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

At our Mid-South seed swap yesterday,we had a wonderful time of fellowship and good food and there were lots of seeds to swap, too, not to mention the door prizes. There were some tears (Buddy went with me to the RU at this same place back in October) but lots of loving hugs from everyone made everything all better. I'm glad I went--it was a good day.

Our temps are warming up starting today, thank goodness. Should be in the mid-50's today with abundant sunshine. Supposed to be about the same all week. We'll see. . .

He and our last Collie Duchess were Pound Puppies...or actually Pound Teens.
Rough-coat Collie Dogs are a lot of work... Sheltie's times 10 in grooming. ;-)
THAT's the problem and reason there are so many needing adoption.
But for me thay are the perfect big dog dog!
IF we get another dog it will be a Smooth-coat Collie... same dog and temperament basically.

Helloooo!!!! We have warmed up immensely today. When I went to work yesterday mornin' (at 8:00) The temp was -3! I don't think there was any wind, just COLD. This morning it was 28, the warmest in days. At the moment it's 34 & 'spitting' snow. A lot of churches in the area have closed for the day.

Sharon, Many prayers for Gary. He's still on the prayer list. :) ~ The New River is definitely a 'must-see'. LOL! Your last pic of Prissy & Peanut is Sooo Funny! Prissy is saying..."Just you wait..I do 'pay-backs'!" LOL
Kiska, Sorry to here about the flooding there, because it shouldn't be. Hope things get back to normal...the roads could be treacherous when they refreeze! :-O
Kelli, Love the Cactus! Gorgeous Blooms!
Rann, I hope things turn out OK really soon for you. If it's any conciliation...I really dread going to the grocery store. I go w/ a set amount of money to spend & go over the limit every time. I'm sure that things aren't as bad here as there, but things are bad, none the less. We will persevere! :)
Bernie, What gorgeous furniture! You are a real artisan.
Ric, Your windows & tiling look great! I would love to have a windowsill just for flowers! The rake trick is Great! Looks as if he was very happy getting it done! :D Drake was a handsome fella! and am sure he was a good influence on Wu...she's so Pretty! :D
Adina, That is some hefty fog there! Glad you made it home safely! An dam glad the electricity came back on. :D Love those pups! :D
Marsue, Glad the RU went well for you. I know Buddy was sorely missed by everyone, but isn't comforting to be around friends? :)

I went out early this morning & got some pics of Rich Creek, which runs by my house...

Have a Great Day!

Sharon - thanks for posting that article. Very interesting. Although I can't tell you how much it stings how our reputation has been damaged. For a small nation it's reputation is it's biggest asset and Iceland has spent an enormous amount of energy building up our formerly positive reputation. I think it's the worst part of all this to most Icelanders ... immensely hurt pride.

Mau - yes we love our horses, but like it said in the article - we eat them too ;-) Although I don't ... Thanks for the hug :-) You are so kind. I'm glad you had a good trip yesterday :-)

Chatty "peeps", for sure:))
We took a drive around the neighborhood and discovered dozens of trees had come down. None on houses. A garage had the sheet metal roof ripped back and a couple of homes had lost shingles. In our area, I've seen only 3 trees down. The melting snow has nowhere to go in town, the drains are frozen. We are on a hill and had no problem. My daughter's home had flooding in the basement;
the pond is in front of my son's home. Ready for freezing weather and put an end to the melting till it's time:))
Will try to keep up tomorrow:)

Rann How did Frida get in there? She looks like she weighs more than the rack LOL! I love her mottled coloring.

Good afternoon :-)

It's nearly dark now (5:45 pm), about 32-33F and fairly calm. Mostly cloudy today with rain/sleet/hail/snow showers on and off ... really couldn't make up it's mind so we got a little bit of everything! lol High around 34-35F. Did see some sunlight this afternoon which is always uplifting :-)

Sharon - pretty poinsettia and Kalanchoe :-) Regarding Fra, I guess where there's a will there's a way ... she must have jumped up there. She can jump pretty high. I'm surprised the whole thing didn't tumble over though! lol She apparantly has no idea that she's neither a bird nor Australian because she prefers the birdseed to her own food.

Kiska - sure hope things will get back to normal soon.

Celia - great photo of Isis :-)

Hope you all have a great day!

Good morning! The little bunny is sick, so I'm typing this with one eye, and keeping the other one looking for the bus so I can wave them off. Katie had a fever of 102.5 (39C) on Sunday. Her temperature was down a bit yesterday, but not back to normal so she spent the day lying on the couch listlessly watching movies and/or sleeping. Hopefully she will feel better today - and none of the rest of us will get it.

We still have a "Fire Weather Statement" because the humidity is so low (I can hear you laughing, Kelli!). We had a bunch of doves, some blue jays, 2 cardinals, and a red headed woodpecker outside the window when the bus pulled up, but they all flew away... As long as I was outside upsetting the birds anyway, I filled the birdbath. Hopefully they will come back to the feeder and find the water, too. The kitties are sitting by the window, hoping the bird show will come back on. LOL

So they do a little bit of both ;-) lol

Marylyn, I hope you bunny gets better soon and that none of you get it, too. Cute about the kits. When our cats do that, we call it "reading the paper". Getting their daily news of what's going on in the neighborhood. ☺

Sharon, that's gorgeous! Darrell's mom has a huge one at her house still. I may end up with it. It stays green, though, no blooms.

Joey, I like that river shot. Brr!

Rann, your birds are saying "Hey! Run for cover!" Very cute, BTW.

Mau, staying warm?

Seeds, that clematis is beautiful! What's it's name? It almost looks fuzzy.

Celia I am trying to stay warm but it is difficult when the high for today is forecast to be just 38F and Friday wants to go outside every hour or so--not to do his business but just to play!!
Rann: I have some friends who raise cockatiels--they probably have close to two dozen of them!! and they are all in cages in their living room!! (too many in my opinion) Your birds are very pretty.
Marylyn: sorry about the little bunny being sick--hope she is well soon and none of the rest of you get what she has. Poor kitties--they are thwarted in their attempt to catch the birds outside! LOL
se_eds: beautiful clematis Your and Celia's flower pics make me long for spring!!
Sharon: lovely poinsettias--does Pea try to eat them?

As I said the high for today is supposed to be 38. Currently it is 35F and overcast

We have an 80% chance of "light rain showers" Wednesday night. This means that maybe the jet stream is getting the kinks out and it will also get warmer back east.

Hiking picture from yesterday. This field had been mowed last summer so all of the dead stuff is down and the green grass is very visble. Otherwise it would look more grey like for foreground. This area is called Reagan Meadow because it used to be owned by Ronald Reagan.

65% relative humidity is dry compared to our normal 90%+. LOL

Our kitties are very spoiled indoor cats. They like watching the birds, but wouldn't know what to do if they caught one. LOL They do love catching mosquitoes when they come in, though, which as far as I'm concerned, more than pays for their upkeep. They kill cockroaches, too! There are roaming neighborhood cats who like sitting right underneath the bird feeder in hope of catching a snack... I have a squirt bottle sitting next to the window to encourage them to move along. :-)

3 tonight with light snow falling. The snow has really piled up here. Hopefully, now that Lake Erie has finally frozen over the lake effect snows will stop hammering us. We made it through last weekends cold spell with overnight lows of -10 and -9 --not too bad compared to those in the upper mid-west. The long range forecast says we might hit 30 Wed. and Thurs. before dropping into the teens and low 20's for another week. My bird feeder is a busy place these days. It's a big homemade one and easily holds 30-40 pounds of seed. Most days, there are so many cardinals feeding that it's impossible to count them. They sure brighten up a cold snowy day.

se_eds...That clematis is stunning!

Bernie...You are a true craftsman!

rann...You have a lot of pets. My neighbors cocatiel escaped last summer. It flew around the area calling for a couple of days then disappeared.

E_B and Adina, I love both of those sun photos! That's a great foggy morning photo, too, Celia!

I did not check the weather again after posting yesterday, and I should have. The low was supposed to be in the upper 30s, so I didn't cover anything. Grrrr...

I'll say Montana for the trivia question, but isn't Alaska part of the continental U.S. since it is on the continent of North America?

Yep, Alaska is part of the continental US, but not part of the contiguous states. People tend to say "continental" when they mean "contiguous." I'm betting Joey's trivia source did that, too.

Marylyn, I'm glad your bunny is feeling better. Great picture of the kitties!
Sharon, that's the cutest picture with the doggies sleeping! I love that begonia, I had one and I killed it last summer...ugh! I suppose you're right about my sunset, but there's noting more beautiful than sunrise or sunset over the sea!
Mau, your poinsettias are so beautiful !
Joey, you have some snow...what did JW do when he saw the snow?
Celia, I'm also looking forward for the spring, beautiful flowres!
Rann, love your cockatiels!

I just spent an hour or so trying to take a good photo of a small, quick & skittish visitor to our bird feeder so I could post it on the Bird Id forum and ask what it is. I finally got a couple of ok photos (did I mention he's quick??), and went to the forum - and found a thread from a lady in Ft. Worth asking about the same bird and she had a much better photo! LOL The moral of this story - check the forum first! ;-)

Marsue, Friday is just a kid... :D & you know how 'kids' are...they will play with a cardboard box before they play with their toys! ;)
Kiska, The days are getting longer! :D Yeah! :D
Marylyn, I think you are right about the trivia. Alaska is part of the continent, but not attached to the lower 48. Glad that your bunny is better! :D
Kelli, What a gorgeous plant/chasmanthe!
Adina, JW stood in awe watching it fall. He loves to stand & watch it rain, too. I wish that it would have snowed enough (& it still may) for him to play in it. :)
E_B, What a Great Shot! Wow! You always have a knack for finding the right angle! ;)
Sharon, I had accidentally forgotten about the trivia until I was going thru stuff from our local news station...They were talking about the dam at Hinton (Bluestone Res. just above Sandstone Falls) having a major crack in it! Everyone is planning evacuation routes if they can't get it fixed in time! :-O We wanted to get some pics just in case it 'ruptures'.

The answer to the trivia is...A - Montana
Rogers Pass, MT plunged to -70 F on this date in 1954.

When Dyson gives his weather report (and speaking of Dyson, where is he???), he tends to add "dark" or "light" depending on the time of day. We've sorta adopted the "dark" part and it became "Dyson dark". We also have "Kiska cold" (but not down here!) and... ummm... something else. What was the other one? "Kelli dry?"

Good morning!

It's 37F this morning which I find hard to believe ... felt much colder when I walked (or rather "skated") with Hildur Eva to pre-school this morning. Breezy and cloudy. Storm warning for later today. Our street is like a skating rink and the sidewalks aren't much better ... only a small part has been sanded so it was a bit treacherous going! Made it home standing though ;-) lol

Too much to comment on, enjoyed all your posts and photos.

Joey - LOVE your creek photos and the deer! Am I hallucinating or is there a dark blob behind a tree there in the deer photo? Or is the treetrunk just that big ?

Marsue - I can't imagine keeping over 20 birds and in the living room! Yikes! Two's enough for me ;-) lol

EB - we keep their wings clipped although there's always a transition period while they're molting when they have a few unclipped feathers ... Oliver (the white one) only needs 2 flight feathers to be able to fly a short distance. 4 are enough to fly into the living room and perch on the window drapes pole (does it have a proper name???) which I don't approve of! lol

Sharon - Prissy and Sweet Pea are such a joy to observe :-)

Hope you all have a great day!

The sun is setting on a very nice day.
High was around 35.
Too much snow to do much melting.

Spent the day cleaning & redoing basement. Came home from coffee & my son was trying to unplug the drain from kitchen sink & washing machine. It's a very long run & don't flush out the grease & soap like it should. We installed some clean outs so next time will be better.
We are getting ready to start plants in the basement. Also put in a 200 amp circuit breaker box last fall when I switched to electric heat. I had a few loose ends to finish there.
We are going to put a new ceiling in part of the basement. I took down some old sheeting today. 50 year old spider webs up between the joists, uuk!

Going to install some cabinets tomorrow.

Not as cold as it has been, but still I am ready, more than ready, for winter to be over.

Should be even warmer tomorrow. Sometimes I really wish I still worked second shift.

Care to all.

Warm here today - must have got up to 34 deg as the driveway started to melt in various spots. Supposed to be 55 deg. tomorrow - can you believe it? Then colder Friday night and for the next 4 or 5 days, back to freezing again.

We did a Wally World walk today which tired these two old-folks out after being house bound for 2 weeks. I need to go out and clean up the potting shed in the weather gets to 35 deg or so tomorrow.

MySharona~wow-those eyes are fantastic~
se_eds~hope you're fine now and sounds as if you're ready to take on spring.
marsue~Friday must be having a grand time there with you; seems he's always on the go.
Bernie~love the sunset and whole scene. Very pretty. The thought of spider-webs is something I'd rather not deal with. Love the work you all do.
Marylyn~50's and breezy~doesn't sound like a warm wind.
pepper~that's going to be quite a swing in temps>
hi Dyson~ it's almost dark; but with the quickly adding up minutes of daylight, won't be long till Dyson Dark will be a thing of the past.

Kiska, it's a relief the temps have dropped in your place! Everyone is worried about the global warming.
Sharon, Your pics and comments about your furbabies are so funny, especially about Pea stealling the cats' toys!
Celia, your nephew is so cute ! He still has to grow for the jacket!LOL That rose is gorgeous, I'd like one too!
Joey, great pics of the river. I second Celia for some JW pics.
Bernie, great color of the sun!
Dyson, nice to hear from you! How are the grandbabies?
Marsue, what a great sunset! Friday is so cute! My Bucky also loves to play with boxes and palstic bottles. How are you today?
Kelli, the flower is gorgeous!
Our weather is still warm , Dyson dark today and raining.

I'm doing okay, Adina, thanks for asking. Today would have been Buddy's 63rd birthday so I am going to celebrate this afternoon by going to a movie with a friend. We will probably go see "Bride Wars"--it is supposed to be good for a laugh-- "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine."
Sharon: Is that Boo or Sylvester? Bright eyes, indeed! (I remember that one of your cats left this life last year.) As always, Pea is adorable but I am sure that Prissy would like to have a little peace now and then! LOL
Bernie: I hope there weren't any 50 yr. old spiders in those spider webs! LOL Spiders give me the "creeps".
Se_eds and Dyson: our warmer weather is leaving us tonight and coming your way. Enjoy it while it lasts!

Another warm day on tap today but it won't last long. Tomorrow will be about 20 degrees colder, if not more so.
Right now it is still Dyson dark and about 36F.

Adina - Thanks LOL! Pea and Prissy are such fun to watch. Prissy is so excited when I bring Sweet Pea home from work everyday. I barely get to unzip the carrier and they are bouncing all over each other :)
Mau - sounds like a nice way to spend Buddys Birthday. All the "firsts" are difficult. Yes Baxter passed on Monday 2 weeks ago. I still miss my little man.
