| I agreed to buy an item on Marketplace recently. The payment info in the listing indicated that credit cards were accepted for payment.
When I got the acknowledgement from the seller it said my order would be shipped as soon as they received my payment by money order. It would be inconvenient for me to get a MO so I D-mailed the seller asking if I could provide my credit card info for payment. No response from the seller at all. :-(
Up until now all my purchases on the Marketplace have been excellent transactions. |

| If you've given them a reasonable time to respond and they haven't, then I'd go ahead and leave them feedback--you can always change it later if they do come through. |

| Why not send another Dmail or email if you have the email address. If there Dmail is as clogged as mine it could have been missed. It isn't really easy to have 2 different (or more) mailboxes to check everyday. |

| I sent another d-mail a couple of days ago and just heard back today. I explained that getting a MO was inconvenient for me and offered to pay with a credit card. I asked that my order be cancelled if they could not accept a CC. The response I got was that the order was cancelled and I could call their office if I wanted to re-order and pay with a credit card.
Strange thing is their Marketplace ad still says "We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover."

| I'd probably leave feedback on that--you can make it neutral if you want instead of negative, but I think it's something that other people ought to be aware of. If they're going to say in their marketplace ad that they take CC's, you should be able to do it through normal marketplace procedures. Otherwise they should mention that to use a credit card you have to place your order over the phone. |

| I am with ardesia, frustrated. I purchased an item via Marketplace that said they take Visa, Mastercard and Paypal.
I prefer credit card. I received an invoice via email which appeared to be Paypal. In the past other folks have sent me invoices via email(which looks like paypal) but I didn't need a Paypal account. For this transaction I have to create a paypal account...I don't want a paypal account. I want to pay with a credit card just as they advertise. I have written the vendor but haven't heard from them which appears they don't check DG each day. I ordered this item almost 2 weeks ago. |

| Since Paypal will let you pay with credit cards, many times people will say they accept credit cards even though the way they accept them is through Paypal, so I don't think they were being misleading in this case. DG doesn't have credit card processing capabilities, so except for people who are vendors and already have a setup for processing credit cards, anyone else has no choice but to use Paypal, Google Checkout, or a similar service if they want to accept CC's. I'm not sure how it works for the seller to send you a request that doesn't require you to sign up...my guess is either this person didn't know how to do that, or assumed that most people already have Paypal accounts. Or else Paypal can be sneaky sometimes and make it hard for you to find the option to do things a different way than what they'd prefer. So maybe on the page that you were linked to there is an option somewhere to pay without signing up but they put it in a place on the page where it wasn't immediately obvious. I've seen them do that with other things so it wouldn't surprise me at all. |

| The listing for the item I was trying to buy still says:
| Quoted: | | We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover |
Incidentally, this listing is from an established business. Since they told me I could get in touch with them directly to pay with a credit card, my thoughts at this point are that they were just trying to get out of paying the nominal DG fee. |

| right now there is no DG fee so they weren't trying to avoid that--you can always pay with credit cards at PayPal without opening an account. However, you do need to read carefully as they (PayPal) does not always make that obvious. |

| The one thing you have to make sure of with paypal is that the vendor has a registered email with them. I know that if they don't you can't send that way. They don't have to have an account and neither do you but an email registry you do have to have. |
