I live in southern California, where there is a ton of quartz, tourmaline and kinds and colors of rocks I have no idea about. I am in no way a true collector, I just generally see something 'pretty' and pick it up on my walks. I have recently moved to this house, which is on a hill surrounded by gullies and canyons, so there is a lot of exposed rock. There is mica everywhere, too.
So, here is a pic of one of the first ones I picked up. It has no 'value' but I thought it was uniquely shaped.
I learned the hard way that a yellow pine background tinges the whole picture!
