I wouldn't know that answer that, but if you get a book on flora of your state, it would be easy to look up. We have tons of Opuntia out here in California, but I bet most are not really native.
Lee, I grow opuntias that can tolerate z4, but I doubt these are native. I think it's amazing that they come back each year after being under feet of snow. They sort of deflate and the pads lie down in the cold and they plump up in summer. I have a yellow, a pink, and I think a white one in my garden.
