I use Plant Files a lot, I just got interested in winter sowing. I have been growing from seeds in my basement under lights for over 10 years.
Is it possible to attach the winter sowing data base that is being created to Plant Files?
And maybe start creating a data base for just seed sowing in general.
Would be nice to look at a plant in plant files and see what it's needs are for seed germination, and what worked or did not work for other DG'ers.
Thanks

The wintersowing database is already incorporated into Plant Files--there's a link near the bottom of every PF page to add a wintersowing report for the plant. I don't wintersow so I haven't played around a lot with it, but I'm assuming if there are wintersowing reports already available for a plant there'd be some sort of link to that info in the same section of the PF entry.

yes, I saw that. But you can not access the winter sowing reports from Plant files, but you can add a winter sow report, which I must say is very detailed.
So it is a one-way street. Maybe I am missing something?

I had assumed if you came across a plant that had a wintersowing report associated with it there would be a link in the PF entry, but like I said I don't wintersow so that's not something I've ever paid attention to. There is a link to the database in the sticky thread at the top of the winter sowing forum http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/815465/

Yes i have also looked at the wintersowing sticky, It is 10 pages long and growing.
Well maybe this is still too young a data base and a link may be in the works. I'll keep my fingers crossed. ; )

Another possibilty is that a subscriber area is not normally linked to an open. Plantfiles is open where only subscribers have access to the wintersowing forum.

I've asked whether it would be possible to be able to access the wintersowing/germination information from the PlantFile entry. We have a way to add information, but not access it as far as I can see.
