It was a wonderful article, thank you. I live in Vegas and I'm interested in finding a resource that outlines which cactus can withstand nights in the 30's. ... and I guess what to do to help protect them. Don
You wouldn't have to plant your specimens in the ground, would you?. Just leave them in pots and move them to a warmer place when the temperatures get too low.
On the other hand, we know that cacti live in the ground in the snow, right??? Or, in the pasture?? Perhaps, plant some in the ground, anyway. See what happens??? Worth a try, no? Cover them with something?
Mine are in pots and I have always mostly just left them "out". Don't think any have ever frozen. We do get temps down into the teens; mostly lower 30's to upper 20's is our coldest. Just throwing ideas out there?????
