I have become very interested in what we call succulents - Cactus. There are many indigenous in South Africa and are really very interesting. Stapelias and Heunias have the most wonderful very defined flowers - seem to all be 5 pointed and have spots. Pollinated mostly by flies. I have Stapelia gigantia just about to flower and that flower is almost the size of a dinner plate. A South Africa publishing company has just published a book "Guide to Garden Succulents" The pamphlet I have received has a barrel cactus, a Stapelia and another something?? on the cover. email books@briza.co.za for further information.
