Well it has happened, Steve at 60 lost his job Monday. New boss in and going out with the old. This was a private agency providing services for individuals with developmental disabilities, which he has done for 35 years. There is no retirement from the agency, no severence package and a letter of termination that is trying its best to keep him from collecting unemployment benefits.
I guess the times are changing, seems there is no sense of loyalty anymore, just when you make too much money and get close they want you out to hire younger and cheaper folks. We have been through this before when a State facility for which steve was in charge closed 20 years ago. We just started over from the bottom and worked up but now with all of his health issues and age, this is not likely an option.
