i have a bar-b-q area that i wanted to build a cedar pergola above.
my question is how tall should it be?
it will be right over the bar-b-q pit.
i want to make sure that when we have the pit on it wont affect the pergola.
thanks

The smoke and odors will be absorbed by the cedar, but that is not necessarily a bad thing.

Is it on an attached patio, or in a free standing area?
If free standing, suit yourself. I would go with 10-12 ft, but 8 would work.
