| barefootT, I purchased a bunch of baby patterns (for my first grandbaby) from 'Sew Baby' but found that they weren't my daughter-in-law's cup of tea...therefore I never used them. If you like Dmail me and I'll get you photos of same...maybe we can do a trade?

| It doesn't take too long to make them, just make sure you use quilter's flannel and osnaburg for your batting. You will notice that the seams are on the outside, it's because you have to clip them to give it the rag look once you wash and dry the quilt. It turns out very pretty. I made 2 of these and one diaper bag for a friend in Texas who had 2 grandkids coming at the time. |

| My favorite baby quilt ptterns come from "Quilts for Baby, Easy a ABC" from THat Patchwork Place, author Ursula Reiles. Her quilts are easy and so colorful and fun. Make good "blankies" for kids to haul around once they are toddling too. |

| Have any of you ever used Iron on vinyl? to water proof fabric?? I got a tremendous deal on a bassinet for the grand baby, but it does not have a mattress/pad...so I am thinking I could buy some thick foam at Joannes with one of those lovely 50% off coupons, and make a cover for it...but then I'm thinking it needs to be water proof-water resistant...
so Ive been looking around and saw some iron on vinyl, but I wonder how it is to work with really???
sooooo any body use it??? |

| How about going to Wal-mart, and buying a waterproof mattress pad, and making several of the bassinet size ones from it! This way, it will not be so hot on the baby!
Just a thought

| My second grandchild is due in May and I've been sewing up a storm. I've made several cloth diapers (I have my own pattern. I used to make and sell cloth diapers online.) My daughter loves the infant gowns. I've made several of those. This week I made some adorable ultrasuede moccassins for the baby. Here are some links for patterns and tutorials:

| There are several free patterns for these online. This is definitely the best tutorial and easiest to follow. They come out adorable and are really easy to embellish using your imagination! I've made them out of ultrasuede, flannel, fleece, etc.

| Hi, i know you like bright colors, however I came across some nice baby fabric at 'whittles.com" $3.50 yd. I think thats good. One under Fabriquilt "Time for Teddy" the other under Wilmington "Baby's second steps" . I need something in light green so I was going over many of their fabrics. Helene |

| They really do come out cute. I made some last night out of coordinating flannel. One print for the tops and a dfferent one for the heel / backs. Then I put a little trim across the front.
For newborns you can use anything for the bottom since they don't walk. For older babies who are getting around more you can use Jiffy Grip. You can get it at Joanns. I like to use something soft for the inside of the sole. I've used cotton sherpa or organic bamboo velour.

| spare time?? what is that?? not a hunter..hubby used to be...but this was a gift of sorts...and lending a helping hand at the same time...
we were at a pow wow, and had an acquaintance ask if we would be interested in any deals on leather, furs and some other supplies...he had recently lost his job, needed some money, so was wanting to sell some of his supplies, at reduced rates /cost...so the darling hubby went to check out what he had to offer...and came back with many hides and some furs, and various other supplies...needless to say I did not make much money at that pow wow, as dh spent so much...but all very beautiful hides...I planned on making some shirts, but I do not do pow wows any more..so I have to find new uses for the stuff... |

| I found some close out flannels yesterday that "followed me home". I like to use flannel on back of baby quilts. Now to get some more orders for them.
Well, it was not supposed to rain till later today and I anticipated getting some yard work done. Of course, it was already raining by 10AM. Got 1 quilt done and am now moving on to one that will go to QOV.

| Precious pictures! I keep "thinking pink" for my new grandbaby due in May. Although, I know it would be easier for dd if it's another boy. Sewing for boys can be fun, too but I have a ton of adorable girly fabrics! Right now I'm sticking with gender neutral but they tend towards boyish. |
