I was not sure where to put this question.Couldnt really find a forum
that would cover one or more of my questions

My first question is where can I get the direction to make this collar
I bought it at a dog show and I just know I can make them...and for a lot less
then what was asked for it(90 bucks...)
I have 5 Great danes and I want one for each...plus friends Danes...
So much cheaper if I can make them

I also need a cheap place to buy the buckles, and rings...
I found some online but dont know if its a good quality item
I don't want super cheap quality...great danes are a little rough on equiptment

I did go to ebay and bid on a macrame book that the picture on the
cover appears to be very close to what I want to make
But I havent recieved the book yet,and was wondering if anyone
else had made one or knew how to

Second question is about round braiding
I have bought at shows kangaroo leather slip leads...another big ticket item. They work great in the show ring...but I would like to make my own because some I want short, some longer and its rare I can find the colors, and length I want, and if 2 or three dogs end up in the ring at the same time I'm switching and panicking.

I figure I'd make some practice ones out of parachute cord, which also works well, but I can only find directions for whip making,or 6 or 12 strand braiding...I need it thin so 6 would be the max...I'm wondering if there is 4 strand braiding technique

I'm pretty sure I could do that or walk you through -the macrame book should do the trick. Can't see well enough what's going on between rows, though. A couple of places. If you don't find someone who does it all the time and still want input, D-mail me or whatever...Kelly

Hey Jo
I am soooo not dealing well with this weather
Seems the older I get the worse it bothers me...
And I am into way to much stuff
but the Dog shows I did 20 years ago...
I got out of it cause life got in the way with the kids being young...
Now they're grown and on their own so I can resume humiliating myself in the show ring
But dang it my Dogs are gunna look good!!!!!!

Thanks for all the help everyone
I really think I'll get it figured out
Going to check out Firemountain

anyone know about the leather braiding?

I much rather be around dogs than chickens...even if they are "show stock" like yours!! LOL
\
Beautiful dogs...Those beads on the collars look like Pony Beads...and some silver conchos...I have some conchos I could share with you...since you were nice enough to share your home with me one time. Jo

I would love a collar for Beau. You're too sweet. He's growing by the minute and I'm not getting much sleep.

OH crestedchik~ You did a wonderful job.. I too had to comment on the Dane picture.. My Diesel looks just like your large black male/female... My Diesel is getting the white hair around his muzzle, where did the time go? Seems like it was just yesterday he was a puppy..

Beautiful Dogs and Beautiful collars..

$90 for a collar with plastic beads? Or is plastic just more practical for dogs?
