When I was a kid, I had a flip doll - one doll until you flipped the skirt and then a totally different doll. I made my littlest DGD one this year - dolly on one side, fairy dolly on the other. this is Jackie, the fairy doll.
I just now saw this and want to tell you what a fantastic job you did on the dolly. Both of them are wonderful. I bet that dolly will be treasured for many years.
I found a similar type of doll a few years back at one of the thrift stores. It was a 3-way doll with Little Red Riding Hood, The Big Bad Wolf and the Grandma. I'm sure one of the grandbabies took it home. I do hope that it didn't end up back at Goodwill. Knowing my oldest and her penchant for "cleaning out", it's a real possibility. (sigh) It wasn't like it was an heirloom, but still... I do hope it's still around.
I've been very sporadic on my Dave's reading lately with it being tax season. I'll be so glad when tomorrow night gets here and I can take a breather.
Hi Janet! Thanks. She was fun to make, although I've never been one for dolls. DD says she doesn't know how she got such a little girly girl.
The pile of snow I've been watching out by the barn is GONE! We've had rain all night and my garden nymph has been whispering that she wants out of the studio and into the dirt again. I think I'll wait until next week. I haven't unwrapped the climbing roses or the taken the protection off the Japanese maple or the fairy trees yet. when I unwrap, she'll come outside again.
Ah, taxes. Being farmers, we go through that all in January and February - they are due March 1- so now, we are just sitting back watching the craziness.
We had a very mild winter here. I didn't even cover a single plant and that's a first for me. Nothing ever got cold enough to freeze here, so I am thankful my neglect didn't cost me any plants.
It never ceases to amaze me how many folks wait until the very last minute to get their taxes done. Especially when they are getting a refund.
