J.H. Chesterton, Asa Gray, Gottlieb Haberlandt, Frederick Frost Blackman and Monroe Evans Gardner (hort professor) all died on this date.

I don't think we have any other date that contains this many deaths.

Too bad I'm not a botanist--would have been a good excuse to stay home from work! LOL Or do we think ordinary gardeners would be subject to the curse as well?
