It reminds me of my parent's vegetable garden. I remember laying on my belly on the terra cotta stepping stones eating peas and lima beans and mint leaves. The first seeds i ever planted (my fave, lima beans) in the heaviest soil, shadiest spot in the lawn. The only place the grass didn't grow. My father has a Polish aunt Irene who always gave us Rhubarb and perennials, she and her husband Moon cooked traditional dishes from scratch for holidays. She is now in her late eighties and gardens and walks about five miles every day. My mother's father is a farmer, grew up on a farm, but is more interested in the animals. All the animals on the land make for enormous fruits and vegetables. I garden with my daughter now, she loves blue and white flowers and fuzzy leaves. Can't wait until spring!
