You all do such beautiful pieces; many of them seem to use primarily stained glass either cut or shards. Can you share examples of vitreous tile pieces? I am new to mosaics, learning as I go for sure, but am having issues with using tile in backgrounds. It never looks right to me; seems to have too much texture and competes with the main design. I have tried to be sure the colors are complementary. What am I missing?
Love seeing all the creativity! Sure is helping me get through this winter.
Well, I just saw a video on Utube that had a lady using silver tape on the clear glass, to accent her piece. You use it on the clear glass, but, you can also use all clear glass, then paint the pieces different colors on the back side, like the leaves green, flowers red, etc.. and all you have to do is use the clear glass on that piece (using glass paints).
I want to try putting the silver tape on the back of a clear glass then you can even engrave a design on the tape itself (electrical tape).. you can buy sheets of copper foil and silver foil, but this is cheaper.
